Lesson: 3 - Font styles & Colour

Purpose: Students learn about Font styles and Colour in Text Document.

Materials Required

Desktop or Laptop computer & Open office.

Prior knowledge

Students should know basics of computers, file, folders and what is a document.


Basic English familiarity and sentence structure (capitalization and punctuation) would help.


Students should know how to create a text document.

  • Teacher's Instruction
    1. Explain in detail the solution to the students.
    2. During the class use the specified words Font style, font colour, background colour & highlight colour.
    3. Students need to be familiar with those words.
    4. Show multiple ways to do things like making something bold but don’t make them memorise it.
    5. Make the students observe how different fonts (like serif, sans-serif, script, etc.) vary in appearance and style. Note serif is the small line at the end of the other lines in a font like at the base of A. Sanserif doesn’t have that line.
